What Is Activated Carbon
Activated carbons are manufactured from coconut shell, peat, hard and soft wood, lignite coal, bituminous coal, olive pits and various specialty materials
Activated carbons are manufactured from coconut shell, peat, hard and soft wood, lignite coal, bituminous coal, olive pits and various specialty materials. Manufactured by chemical or high temperature steam activation, this highly porous adsorptive medium has a complex structure that is composed primarily of carbon atoms. Its network of pores within a rigid carbon skeleton consists of disordered layers of carbon atoms which are linked together by random chemical or carbon bonds.

COCONUT SHELL BASED GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON
Granular activated carbons are mostly made from Coconut Shells on petroleum coke, bituminous coal or lignite. Granular activated carbon is used in continuous process in areas like water treatment(drinking & effluent water), removal of mercury from effluents or alkali cells, solvent recovery, gold recovery, removal of odour, gas masks, as catalyst carrier, for decholorination of water, purification & separation of gases, kitchen hoods, dry cleaning etc.

PELLETS (EXTRUDED) ACTIVATED CARBON
- Pellets (Extruded) Activated Carbon
Pellets activated carbon is widely used for purification of exhaust gas, chemical raw material gas, chemical synthesis gas, gas for pharmaceutical industry, carbon dioxide gas for beverages, purification of hydrogen gas, nitrogen gas, hydrogen chloride, ethane gas, purification and separation of atomic facility exhaust, etc. There is also impregnated activated carbon, such as KOH activated carbon, NaOH activated carbon, sulfur impregnated activated carbon, desulfurization and denitrification activated carbon, acid wash activated carbon for removing special harmful gases.
